TENNO KATA
Begin in Natural Stance:
1.
Step with left foot, forward, into straddle stance and left
down block.
2.
Shift into left front stance and right middle punch.
3. Shift back into straddle stance and left upper block.
4. Again shift into left front stance and right middle punch.
5. Take off with right hand as you adjust right foot into a
right cat stance at 45 degrees; right hand ends up open
and on top of left wrist.
6. Look to the left, then right, as you adjust your right
foot to the right into straddle stance and do a knife hand
block to the right side, left fist pulls to left hip.
7. Bring fists to right side, left on top of right, then double
punch to the left (parallel to the ground).
8. Left side kick, set left foot down, hook right foot around
behind left foot as you bring your fists to your right side
and prepare for an x-block.
9. Turn counterclockwise, 180 degrees, as you move your
left foot out into a left front stance and do an upper
X-block.
10. Step with right foot, forward, into a straight line front
stance as you do a right back fist, left fist pulls to left
side.
11. Bring fists to right side and prepare for x-block, adjust
left foot into left front stance as you turn 180 degrees and
do a lower X-block.
12. Release left hand (like a relaxed left hook punch), bring
right foot up to left and step sideways (right) into straddle
stance followed by a right roundhouse backfist to the
temple.
13. Look left then slow right back hand block to the right,
follow with a left front elbow strike to the right (right hand
is used as the target) then do a right circular backfist.
14. Look right then slow left back hand block to the left,
follow with a right front elbow strike to the left (left hand
is used as the target) then do a left circular backfist.
15. Release left arm straight out then right outside/inside
block followed by a right push punch from the solar plexus.
16. Release right arm straight out then left outside/inside
block followed by a left push punch from the solar plexus.
17. Double down block.
18. Double inside/outside block.
19. Cross arms in front then bring fists to hips, bring right
foot to left, step forward into a front stance with right
foot and double roundhouse backfist strike to the kidney
area.
20. Grab with both hands, slide in with a forehead strike to
the stomach area.
21. Turn to the left as you bring your fists to your right hip
and your left foot into a parallel cat stance, then double
punch to the left.
22. Left side kick, then step down into a left straight line
front stance and right reverse middle punch23. Shift into a
straddle stance as you left push punch.
23. Slow right down block as you adjust your right foot,
turning clockwise to face original front, into natural stance.
24. Slow left down block, then slow double down block.
25. Finish in natural stance and praise EL ELYON!
